since i’m saved by grace
I know what you’re thinking: now that I’m saved by faith and Jesus paid for everything, am I free to sin and do whatever I want in life after salvation because I’m saved by grace? The answer is simple: no! God expects you to walk in obedience to His truth because you love Him. Paul summarizes the Bible in one verse, Romans 6:1–2: “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”
Salvation produces good works
Matthew 5:20, “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Jesus makes a troubling statement that should send cold shivers down your spine: So, if “A” your righteousness doesn’t exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees, then “B” doesn’t take place, and you won’t enter the Kingdom of Heaven. This should make you work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for sure. It is so sad that Christians today don’t seem troubled by this statement. Believe all you want, trust all you want, but if in your walk with Christ you are not imputed with His righteousness, then the fruit of His righteousness cannot be manifested in your daily walk, and you will go to Hell right along with the atheist. Pleasing God with your life should be your highest priority.
Sadly, many preachers today have lost sight of the scriptures that outline the prerequisites of salvation. They have watered down solid doctrinal truths into an easy-believism approach to salvation. In this world of easy-belief doctrine, marked by no conviction, no remorse, and no repentance, simply accepting salvation by faith without repentance is a deception from the pits of Hell. Without genuine repentance and salvation by faith alone in the works of Christ alone, true rebirth cannot take place, and Christ cannot impute His righteousness to you. If the Holy Spirit is not in you, transformation cannot occur. You will simply believe your way into deception all the way to Hell. The surrender of your will
Matthew 26:39, “He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, ‘O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will. ”
After salvation, you must give up your will in favor of God's will. After you have sinned repeatedly and hurt your family, you will realize that you cannot live without God leading the way. It’s a learning process I know well. So here I am, telling you what lies ahead, so you can surrender your will now and spare yourself and your family a lot of heartache and pain.
Those who are born again often seem unsure about what happens after salvation through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christians today flounder in their walk with God, like fish out of water, going up and down spiritually. Being double-minded is pretty much the norm.
Sanctification means being made holy and set apart. It is an ongoing process after salvation, in which you take up your cross daily to repent of the world's sins and separate yourself from its influences. Sanctification also means being at one with God in mind and purpose, being obedient, and walking a holy walk before God to the best of your abilities.
The writer of Hebrews points us to David and to the direction you need to take: “He said, ‘Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God’” (Hebrews 10:9), then he said, “I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart” (Psalm 40:8). To unlock all the benefits God has in store for you, you must humble yourself and surrender all your pride and will to God the Father for one express purpose, so God can have fellowship with you and make you the singular object of His love.
