Kindness Feeds Your Spirit | Intimacy With Christ | Richard Wafford

Deuteronomy 8:2–3: “You shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.”

Many are the troubles of life, yet these same troubles are beneficial to those who truly understand. Some understand, and many never will, living their lives in a senseless haze, a fog that obscures their minds from the reality that life isn’t merely physical but also spiritual, and that man truly does not live by bread alone, but by the words of hope that proceed from the mouth of God. When you interact with people, every interaction is spiritual, for everything you do speaks to the spiritual nature of your soul. A physical smile, a wave of the hand, a warm bear hug, laughter, a giggle, and even a friendly nod speak volumes to a hungry soul. If you were put in isolation, your spiritual nature would starve to death. Even though you are well fed, you will still die without your spirit being fed. The Word of God and obedience to it feed your soul and allow it to thrive.  ~ Richard

Satan’s Favorite | Intimacy With Christ | Richard Wafford

1 Peter 5:8–9, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”

Have you ever felt like the world is against you? That wherever you go, trouble always seems to find you? That life always seems to back you into a corner? So you stay in the Word of God more, praying and worshiping more, thinking that will make a difference, but instead it only makes it worse. You think to yourself, “I’m doing my best to serve God by serving others, so what am I doing wrong?”

The world treats you like an outcast, and in the church, you seem to be one too, maybe not openly, but the personal fellowship just isn’t there. Then you cry out to God, asking Him what’s going on here.

Then you learn throughout the Bible that God’s greatest champions, from David to Elijah, from Jeremiah to Daniel, and from Peter to Paul, were Satan’s favorite targets. To make a difference for God is to put yourself on Satan’s hit list. To change others’ lives through Christ is to encounter trouble all around you! This should put a big smile on your face, for your rewards in Heaven are great. ~ Richard

Enforcing Your Victory | Intimacy With Christ | Richard Wafford

Colossians 2:14, “Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.”

Law enforcement enforces the laws of the land to ensure citizens follow them. 1 Timothy 1:9–10, “The law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.”

As Christians, you are called to uphold God’s Law against Satan, the instigator of evil who opposes God’s Word. You are the light of His authority, lovingly showing others how to walk in confidence as you battle the forces of evil in your life. You are to take a strong stand against anything contrary to sound doctrine, so others will clearly know the way of God.

~ You are a constant reminder to evil that God is in charge. ~

Christians do not walk in ignorance, but in truth and the authority given to us against the enemy of our soul, Satan. You are a constant reminder to evil that God is in charge.

The law of truth is God; you are the light and salt of the earth, compelling others to follow His truth amid darkness. As a child of God, you have been given all the power and authority to trample down that evil serpent, crushing the head of Satan.

~ You have been given the power and authority
from the very throne of God. ~

Matthew 16:18–19 states, “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” I will give you, the church, the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and darkness will not stand in your way. Darkness respects the authority you exercise in Christ. ~ Richard

Trusting The Man In Front | Intimacy With Christ | Richard Wafford

Exodus 14:14, “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

You face battles every day, and spiritually you go down swinging. But the key point is that you usually go down in defeat because you try to win by your own strength, ingenuity, and prowess. A human is no match for a powerful spiritual being like Satan. Even though he’s a fallen angel, he still maintains his power of influence through deceit and distractions. To face him alone is to lose every encounter and every battle.

When you allow God to walk ahead of you, taking the lead in every battle, following close behind Him will ensure that you win every battle. When the Mighty, Powerful God says to you, “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace,” you’re not going to get a better deal anywhere. Especially if every time you lose a battle, you and your loved ones suffer the consequences of defeat. It is far better to follow behind a seasoned warrior whose track record shows He wins every battle He has ever faced; that is the person you need to run behind and trust in. ~ Richard

Forgiving The Pain | Intimacy With Christ | Richard Wafford

Matthew 18:21–22, “Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”

Forgive, especially when they don’t deserve it!  are to be kind and tenderhearted, always forgiving others, just as God forgave you of all your sins. Forgiveness frees you from the pain of your past. Their actions hurt you deeply and were unjustifiable. Forgiving them may not erase what happened, but it can release you from daily pain and help you find peace. End the cycle of painful memories by forgiving that person, even if they don't seem to deserve it—because you do. You deserve to have peace, Christ died on the cross so you could have peace, but you must choose to walk in His truth!

Matthew 18:32–33, “Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?”

The forgiveness you extend reflects God’s goodness to you and can inspire others to repent. Love forgives many wrongs. It is through love and forgiveness that repentance and salvation become possible. By letting go of grudges, you convert mere knowledge into heartfelt understanding and transform a worldly person into a godly one.

Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

You forgive people as often as necessary to keep peace active in your life. You forgive them daily until it becomes less frequent, to the point that it no longer bothers you. ~ Richard

Delivered From The Enemy | Intimacy With Christ | Richard Wafford

Daniel 6:21–22: “Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths.”

As a Christian, if the sins of your past do not eat you alive as a newborn believer, the spiritual battles you face as you draw closer to your Lord and Savior will. But the Lord Himself will step in to fight your battles and defeat your foes while you stand back and watch their downfall. Daniel faced an enemy and was thrown into the lion’s den because of jealousy, yet God shut the lions’ mouths.

Psalm 17:12–14, “As a lion is eager to tear his prey, and like a young lion lurking in secret places. Arise, O Lord, confront him, cast him down; Deliver my life from the wicked with Your sword, With Your hand from men, O Lord.”

The Lord will always deliver you from the wicked; it’s as simple as asking Him to. It’s so easy anymore to recognize a lion lurking in the tall grasses of life and to immediately say, "Lord, You’re going to have to deal with this lion.” The peace you have knowing that God is more than capable of dealing with anything that comes your way! ~ Richard

Believe God’s Authority | Intimacy With Christ | Richard Wafford

Revelation 1:8, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

As Christians, we struggle far too much with truth. Is God serious? Does His Word mean what it says, or should I read something different into it? Always take God’s Word as it is written, guided by reason, logic, and the Holy Spirit. Be certain that if it is written or thus saith the Lord, you had better rest your soul upon it, for one day those very Words will judge you for casually disregarding them. Ignore what the world of men tells you, even disregard theologians' interpretations of God’s Word. You, and you alone, through the Holy Spirit and much prayer, must come to understand what the truth is telling you personally.

Revelation 21:6–7: "And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son."

When God declares, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” and “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty,” you should truly consider all the possibilities He intends to fulfill through you. You can trust fully in any of God’s promises! When God speaks, it is as good as done! If His Word says you are loved, valued, and His child, trust Him completely.

A Good Heart

Hebrews 10:22, “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

You must have an honest heart before God. Come before Him in the emptiness of all strength, imploring God to give you strength from above. God will always come to the aid of a heart that is honest before Him. A heart that says, “Lord, I’m struggling, and I need your help.” Help will come speedily to a heart that is true. You can come close to God in full assurance of faith, knowing that God hears and He cares for you!
God will not hear the prayers of those who are rebellious and despise His truth, sinning before Him and then coming to Him for grace and mercy with unconfessed and unrepentant sin. No grace or mercy will come, no matter how much faith they muster. Then these same people wonder why God is not moving in their lives. You must come to God honestly. ~ Richard

Gossip is as Deadly Witchcraft

7/23/2026

Proverbs 11:9: "The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.”

Who is the accuser of the brethren? Who is the one who distorts others’ views of another person? Who is the one who seeks to create tension, drama, and discord among the brethren? Satan is the answer you’re looking for. In James 4:11 it says, “Do not speak evil of one another, brethren.”

In James 4:11 it says, “Do not speak evil of one another, brethren.”

Anytime you rebel against God’s truth and willingly disregard it, that is witchcraft, for you are rejecting the word of the Lord. Did not Lucifer reject God’s truth, want to be like God, and put his throne above God’s? Is not Satan referred to as “The accuser of the brethren” (Rev. 12:10)? So, when you become an accuser of your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, doesn’t that make you a partaker of Satan’s rebellion?

1 Samuel 15:23: “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord.”

Whenever you gossip about another person, thereby distorting someone else’s view of that person, you are taking part in Satan’s activities. Gossip murders someone else’s spirit and reputation. You are speaking curses down upon another person. Only Satan distorts and destroys another person’s image. Love as Christ loved you and forgive as He has forgiven you! ~ Richard
