Romans 5:17: “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”

Many people fall in love with their best friend. No one ever gets married based on someone’s merit. “Prove to me you are a good person, and I’ll marry you” doesn’t happen. So why would you wrongly believe that God would be the same way?

People worldwide would laugh at such a ridiculous way to marry someone. Everyone falls in love out of affection, a bond with your best friend, or two spirits coming together in unison. Affection means loving someone for who they are, not for what they can do for you.

However, many view the love of God as something you need to earn to have a relationship with the God of heaven, rather than as something based solely on His affection and love for you.  Notice that God says, “Those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness.” Ephesians 2:8–9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

I know what it is like to be alone and forsaken. I know what it's like to face life’s challenges alone and to learn God’s truth the hard way. To dig deep into God’s truth so you can climb out of the hole of your addictions, depression, and suicidal thoughts. To live life, to walk alone, just Jesus and me!
