Fervent Praying
James 5:16: "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."
Prayer is being lost in our society today. The people hurting now are the same ones who were hurting in the 90s, but what has changed? The church has backslidden and lost sight of the great Physician and problem-solver. We’ve lost sight of God’s infinite power and wisdom freely given to His children!
Come unto me, all you who are burdened and heavy-hearted, and I will give you rest for your souls (Matt. 11:28). When Jesus faced a difficult problem, He set an example for the disciples to follow. He prayed all night, which gave Him the strength, knowledge, and the anointing of God to deal with toxic people.
In Gethsemane, the power of prayer comes from surrendering your will to God. He prayed to God that if it were possible, let this cup pass from Him. Then He fully trusted in God's strength to endure the cross. His submission is shown in His prayer, “Nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” Have you forgotten who you serve?
When was the last time you poured out your heart to God until the anxiety and sorrow melted away under His hand? When was the last time you humbled yourself before God, admitting your weakness and inability to handle the situation?
You've been relying too much on yourself to solve problems that weren't meant for you to handle alone. It's important to surrender everything to God, who will provide insight and peace of mind, and work with you during these difficult times to support others. Pastors often quit because they rely too much on themselves rather than on God and a group of people to share the prayer burden.
George Mueller never told anyone what he needed for his orphanages. He never advertised his needs but trusted in God through prayer until the pressure and burden lifted. Because he left everything completely in God’s hands, his prayers were answered every time. Thousands of dollars came through his orphanages through prayer alone. We need to get back on our knees and ask God to partner with us in handling all our problems. ~ Richard

Going To The Lord In Prayer Brings Peace
Matthew 26:36–39, "Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
Your greatest need in life comes when the world of evil drives you to your knees. Amid the chaos, fears, anxieties, and depression, and the heavy weight of wanting to give up, you become frantic for hope and strength. You turn to prayer out of desperation, begging God for help! Then God comes to you with His Spirit, and peace floods your soul.
After experiencing the peace that comes through prayer in your darkest times, you’ll find that prayer becomes an essential part of your journey with Christ. I wouldn’t need to tell you that when dark influences bombard your mind, the only answer is to pray. In that moment, no one will need to tell you that your victory in Christ lies in praying without ceasing!
When you sin and know the consequences could be horrific, anxiety fills every part of your being; you see no light at the end of the tunnel, you cry out to God, and He takes care of your situation. Going to God becomes personal and intimate, for there you can unburden your soul to a God who hears and answers without criticism or judgment, but out of pure love.
The Lord Himself said to His disciples in surprise, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

What happened to Peter when he didn’t take time to pray? He denied the Lord three times! The other disciples scattered in fear. What happened to Judas, who never committed himself to Christ? He betrayed the Son of God, later lost all hope, and committed suicide.
Prayer is your most powerful weapon against evil, yet Christians rarely use it to its full advantage.
Take time to be holy, speaking often with God in prayer.
