Repent means to change one's of mind in the spiritual direction they are traveling in life.
Luke 13:5I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
SALVATION IS A GIFT FROM GOD
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Gospel literally means good news, however, there cannot be good news unless it first counteracts the bad news.
In order for something to be classified as GOOD there must be of necessity something to be classified as BAD.
THE BAD NEWS: The bad news comes in three parts: 1. No one is good enough: No one is “good enough on their own” to get to Heaven. Even our “righteousness” is as filthy rags to God. Isaiah 64:6 Romans 3:10 as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one
2. We are all same to God.....SINNERS Everyone is in the “same boat” when it comes to sin. “ALL” come short of gaining Heaven and everyone needs a savior. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God
3. The Wages Of Sin......is Death
Because we are sinners we will die twice. One a physical death and the other a permanent spiritual death without God throughout eternity in the lake of fire Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death Revelation 20: 14-15 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
THE GOOD NEWS: The good news comes in three parts, countering the bad news: 1. God stepped out of eternity and stepped into time 2,000 years ago in order to become our sacrificial LAMB and die for our sins.
The Son Of God stepping into Time: Matthew 1:21-23 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Died for Our Sins: 1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
Sacrificial Lamb: John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
2. Recognizing God The Father’s and God The Holy Spirit’s Eternal Authority over him: Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Note: this the first time that Jesus addressed the other two persons of the Triune GodHead as God.
Gave up aspects of His Eternal Authority: 1 Corinthians 15:24 and when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
Buried: Matthew 27:57-60 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple: 58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. 59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. 3. Christ Rose Again the third day, Proving He is, was and always will be God: 1 Corinthians 15:4 And that He was buried, and Rose Again the third day according to the scriptures. Matthew 28:6 He is not here: for He has risen, as he said. Come see where the Lord lay. Note: Proving that He is God that keeps His promises in saving us and will raise us up at the last day. God’s Promise To Save Us: Romans 10: 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be Saved.
I must ask you four questions to see if you understood the BAD/GOODNEWS * Do you believe you are a sinner? * Do you believe your sin is bad enough to send you to Hell? (This is why you need a Savior) * Do you believe Christ is God and that He came to this earth 2000 years ago to die for your sins, be buried, and rise again? * Now that you understand the Gospel, if you meant it in your heart and you asked Christ to save you, do you think that He would? He said He would!!!
SINNER'S PRAYER: “Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and condemned to Hell, but you loved me enough to step out of eternity and into time 2000 years ago just to die for my sins, be buried, and rise again. I ask you to come into my heart and life, right now to guide me from this day forward through your words of truth. Save me Lord Jesus, Amen.”
Salvation has nothing to do with your emotions but rather of your obedience to pray this prayer by faith to God is what saves you. It is allowing God’s word to have the last say in your life, to come under the obedience of His word. For it says in Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” it is God’s word that is at stake here not yours in the salvation of your soul to life everlasting.
Congratulations you are now a child of God, a son or daughter of The King of Kings and Lord of Lord’s. Welcome into the family of God, all of heaven is rejoicing at your choice to give your heart to him!!!
